Your Role as a People Operations Manager
We are looking for a People Operations Manager who is a technician at heart. You don’t just "do" HR; you engineer it. As our French entity scales, you will serve as the operational architect of our local people strategy.
This is not a traditional administrative role. You own the full scope of our French HR administration—contracts, onboarding, and offboarding—but you approach this work with the mindset of an engineer. You are the technical owner of our "People Data Fabric," ensuring global systems and local French requirements work in harmony. While our dedicated Payroll and Labor Law teams handle the heavy-lifting of union relations and execution, you ensure the underlying data and processes are seamless, audit-proof, and—most importantly—automated. You are an administrator who is eager to come in, execute the daily grind, and build the automated workflows that allow us to scale without the manual overhead.
📍 Job located in Paris / Madrid / Porto
What you'll be doing:
1. Operational Ownership (The Daily Pulse)
The Employee Lifecycle: You own the daily operational execution of the employee journey. You draft contracts, run onboarding, and manage offboarding. You are the hands-on owner of these processes.
"Continuous Refactoring": Every time you draft a contract or offboard an employee, you audit the process. You identify where the friction is, where the manual data entry happens, and you take personal ownership of fixing it.
System Integrity: Maintain the integrity of our HRIS (HiBob) data, ensuring it flows flawlessly into our downstream systems.
2. Automation & "Zero Manual Work" Mandate
Tooling & Workflows: Identify manual, repetitive HR tasks and replace them with technical solutions (e.g., automated triggers, smart data flows, or tool integrations).
Optimizing the Stack: You view processes as living tools. If a process takes three clicks when it could take one, you re-engineer it. You are the champion of "no-manual-data-entry" within our team.
3. Operational Governance & Compliance (The "Bridge")
The Data Auditor: While you are not processing payroll, you are the final checkpoint for data integrity. You validate variable elements and ensure data consistency so that our Payroll team has clean, error-free inputs every time.
Proactive Compliance: You act as the technical partner to our Labor Law team. You don't lead the CSE negotiations, but you ensure the team has the accurate data, BDESE reports, and technical documentation required for consultations before they even ask.
Audit-Ready Operations: You maintain the trackers for French-specific requirements (OETH, Occupational Health certificates, etc.), ensuring our system flags gaps automatically rather than relying on manual monitoring.
What you'll bring:
Requirements
Experience: 4–6+ years in HR Operations or HR Administration within the French market and relevant exposure to European settings.
Regulatory Fluency: Deep familiarity with the Syntec Collective Agreement and the French Code du Travail. You understand the mechanics of how they impact data, even if you aren't the lead legal counsel.
Language: Native/Fluent French (required for legal and administrative accuracy); along with full professional fluency in English. Spanish or Portuguese language skills are a plus.
Mindset
Administrator/Operator DNA: You have mastered the "basics" of French HR (contracts, employee lifecycle). You know the pain of manual HR work and are motivated to solve it.
Technical Mindset: You are a technician at heart. You have a high command of Excel/Google Sheets (complex formulas, data cleaning). You have a "builder's" curiosity about automation tools (Zapier, APIs, basic scripting, etc.) and apply them responsibly.
The "Anti-Manual" Mentality: You find manual data entry painful. You thrive in scaling environments where you are empowered to "clean up" and "build up" as you go.
