Regulatory Analyst Tax & Accounting
About the role
We are looking for a Regulatory Analyst specialised in tax and accounting legislation
to join our Tax & Accounting team.
You will play a key role in ensuring that our tax and accounting software evolves in line
with Spanish regulation. Your responsibility will be to identify regulatory changes,
assess their impact and translate them into clear functional requirements that Product
and Engineering teams can implement confidently.
This role combines strong knowledge of Spanish tax and accounting regulation with
hands-on understanding of accounting software, tax filings and business processes.
Key responsibilities
• Continuously monitor changes in Spanish tax, accounting and fiscal regulation
relevant to the product.
• Track legislation related to VAT, personal income tax, corporate income tax,
withholding taxes, informative returns, accounting ledgers, invoicing, e-
invoicing, Veri*Factu and other tax obligations.
• Analyse changes to tax forms, deadlines, formats, validations, calculations,
deductions and filing requirements.
• Assess the impact of each regulatory change on product modules, calculations,
forms, reports, exports and operational workflows.
• Translate legal and tax requirements into complete, clear and testable functional
requirements.
• Define business rules, tax scenarios, input data, expected outcomes and
acceptance criteria.
• Maintain a regulatory calendar covering effective dates, filing deadlines,
transition periods and annual regulatory publications.
• Validate that implemented changes comply with regulation before release.
• Maintain documentation and traceability between regulatory obligations and
their implementation in the product.
• Work closely with Product, Engineering and QA to design solutions that remain
flexible and sustainable as regulations evolve.
About You
• Provide expert support to Customer Support and internal teams on tax and
accounting-related product questions.
• Deliver internal training sessions on relevant tax and accounting changes.
• Coordinate consultations with external tax advisors when legal interpretation is
unclear or highly complex.
Requirements
• Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Accounting and Finance, Law,
Taxation or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in Spanish tax, accounting, tax advisory services or
accounting/tax software.
• Strong knowledge of VAT, personal income tax, corporate income tax,
withholding taxes, tax returns and Spanish accounting obligations.
• Practical experience with accounting processes, period close, ledgers, tax filings
and compliance requirements.
• Ability to interpret tax legislation and translate it into detailed functional
requirements.
• Experience working with accounting software, ERP systems, tax applications or
software for professional firms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish.
• Ability to manage demanding regulatory deadlines and multiple parallel
changes.
• Professional working level of English.
Nice to have
• Knowledge of Veri*Factu, e-invoicing, SII, TicketBAI or similar regulatory
frameworks.
• Experience with accounting ERP, tax software, SaaS B2B products or software for
professional firms.
• Knowledge of tax products such as VAT, Corporate Tax, Personal Income Tax,
informative returns or statutory accounting.
• Experience creating functional documentation.
