Your role as an Onboarding Operations Team Lead (Banking)
We're looking for a leader who knows that operational excellence is the baseline, not the goal.
As our Onboarding Operations Team Lead, Banking, you will own the end-to-end account opening process for a diverse portfolio of business clients, from sole proprietors and independent professionals to complex multi-shareholder structures. But this role is about more than running a tight operation. It's about challenging how things are done, identifying what can be simplified, automated, or reimagined and then making it happen.
You'll be joining at a pivotal moment, as we scale into new international markets and raise the bar on what our onboarding function can deliver. That means navigating regulatory complexity with confidence, not caution, understanding risk deeply enough to make smart, decisive calls rather than conservative ones.
You'll lead a seasoned remote team, which calls for more than process management. It requires clarity of communication, the ability to bring people on a journey, and the presence to influence stakeholders well beyond your immediate team.

📍 Job located in France (preferably) and/or Germany, with the possibility of two remote working days per week.
What You'll Be Doing:
· Leading People — Not Just Managing Them
You'll lead a remote team of onboarding specialists and set the tone for how they work. That means more than tracking performance; it means coaching, challenging, and developing people who are already good at what they do. You'll build a team culture rooted in ownership and accountability, where continuous improvement isn't a value on a wall but a daily habit.
· Owning Operational Excellence
You'll have full oversight of the end-to-end account opening process for our corporate clients, from sole proprietors to complex multi-shareholder structures. You'll hold the bar high on quality and compliance, monitor performance through meaningful KPIs, and stay close enough to the detail to spot friction before it becomes a problem. When you find it, you fix it.
· Driving Transformation — Not Just Supporting It
This is where you'll leave your mark. You'll actively lead the simplification and optimisation of onboarding processes, identify where automation can replace manual effort, and support the integration of AI-driven tools into day-to-day operations. You won't wait to be asked; you'll bring the ideas, build the case, and work cross-functionally with Compliance, Product, Tech, and Customer Support to make them happen.
· Scaling Across Borders
As we expand into new international markets, you'll play a hands-on role in adapting our onboarding processes for different jurisdictions, ensuring we're operationally ready to handle growing volumes without compromising on quality or compliance. You'll help build the scalable frameworks that allow us to grow with confidence.
What You Bring
· Your Background
You have solid, hands-on experience in KYB and KYC; business and customer verification are your core domains. You know how to navigate complex corporate structures, UBO mapping, and AML/CFT documentation requirements without losing pace. You’ve spent time in fintech, regtech, payments, or transformation teams within banking environments, and you’ve led operations teams through periods of real growth. Your track record shows teams that scaled well, processes that improved, and quality that held.
Multi-country exposure is a genuine asset you bring to the table. You communicate with clarity and confidence in English, in writing, in meetings, and in front of stakeholders. French, German, or Spanish is a bonus.
· How You Think and Work
You lead with clarity and drive accountability, but you’re equally comfortable digging into KPIs, SLA performance, and backlog data to make informed calls. You’re pragmatic and solution-oriented, you identify what’s broken, build the case, and get it fixed. You bring rigour to process improvement and a genuine appetite for automation, and you know how to work cross-functionally with product, data, and tech teams to get things shipped.

It’s where you do your best work. You know how to bring a team through transformation without losing momentum or trust along the way. You’re adaptable, commercially aware, and never caught waiting for someone else to lead.
